A quote on a Topic On My Mind these days - Generosity. We live in times of Transformation! These are the toughest economic times - many of us have ever seen, times that find
families in large numbers living in their cars, in tents and under bridges. And yet we all sense things may get worse before they really improve. So much to be grateful for and so many causes to be generous with. Dig deep give to others with no reason. Do something generous today for someone. Make it incredible - doing it for someone who can never repay you and even better do it anonymously - it will spread good will. The recipient will not have a single individual they are grateful too but rather a larger unknown "universe".
Generosity is another quality which, like patience, letting go, non-judging, and
trust, provides a solid foundation for mindfulness practice. You might
experiment with using the cultivation of generosity as a vehicle for deep
self-observation and inquiry as well as an exercise in giving. A good place to
start is with yourself. See if you can give yourself gifts that may be true
blessings, such as self-acceptance, or some time each day with no purpose.
Practice feeling deserving enough to accept these gifts without obligation-to
simply receive from yourself, and from the universe.
